Nora is Hugh's eldest daughter and sister to Jeremy and Junior. She is married to Tess's nephew, Martin, and they have a son, Christopher (13). She is a trauma surgeon at San Francisco General Hospital.

Description

A thin, shortish Caucasian woman in her early 40s with very short, spiky black hair, pale blue eyes, small breasts, and pale skin. She wears tight black t-shirts with jeans and sneakers when she's not at work, adding a black leather jacket and a baseball cap when the weather's bad. She rarely wears her wedding ring and doesn't use perfume or makeup except on formal occasions.

Her manner is confident, but not arrogant, and she's generally blunt and to the point. She is dedicated to her job, but tries to make as much time as possible for her son, though she's not very successful. She is on good terms with her husband, bad terms with her father, and doesn't socialize much with the rest of the family, though she remains loyal and helps them out whenever she can. The only exception is her brother, with whom she is very close. They often get together with their kids.

Background

Nora has always been independent-minded and able to ignore her overbearing father. She met Martin through his brother, Jack, and the two hit if off fairly well, but the marriage was more to appease her father and get money to go to medical school. They have a good relationship and love their son, but both have gone their separate way. She has had numerous lovers but is the vision of discretion out of respect for Martin and her son. She's had only one actual love affair, with Eric Keegan, which ended badly and she concentrates these days on her career. Medicine is her life and she feels she is doing more good than the Uratha members of the family, who she quietly believes cause as much trouble as they solve, though she respects the fact that they deal with things nobody else can and so continues to support them. She is an avid motorcyclist and many of her relationships have been with hardened bikers. She's had one abortion after getting pregnant when she tried LSD and methamphetamine at a biker function and ended up having sex with most of the male participants. Since then, she's avoided drugs, even alcohol, for fear of more serious consequences.
