Julie is married to Michael and they have three children: Jesse (13), Rachel (11), and Andrew (9). She is the younger sister of Victor and Nicholas and works as a mounted police officer in Golden Gate Park.

Description

Julie is a tall, fit woman with mid-length black hair in a braided ponytail, blue eyes, and lightly tanned skin. She has a firm authoritative voice and a slender, boyish build. Off-duty, she wears tight jeans, cowboy boots, and loose white or light blue or gray blouses. She wears a wedding ring but no other jewelry and a very subtle perfume.

Storytelling Hints

A driven woman who is fiercely protective of her family and her husband, whom she worries about constantly. She is an honest cop and dislikes the lengths Sean has to go to in order to help the family. She is aware of the sacrifices he is making in terms of his career and wishes the family would be more considerate. She is still close to Jeff, her uncle, and dislikes how the downtown family treats him like a pariah. Julie is also one of the few family members close to Damien, the two both having lost someone close during the Castro War.

Background

Julie was the youngest of three children of Victor McShane, beta of the Silver Kings, who died when she fourteen, during the Battle of Glen Canyon. Shortly afterwards, her two siblings were pressured into marrying their distant cousins in the uptown pack. Julie was too young at the time, but was still introduced to Mike and, despite the circumstance, they fell in love and got married shortly after she turned eighteen. They had three children in quick succession, both wanting a family, but after Andrew's birth, she decided to pursue one of her dreams with the full support of her husband. She worked hard and got into the police academy and was accepted into the mounted division, having been an equestrian since she was a young girl. She has excelled at her career with the help of her family to handle the kids, though she tries hard to spend as much time with her family as possible. They all enjoy active, athletic pastimes, though there is a lot of street concerning the dangerous professions of both parents and they are acutely aware of the chance their children may lose a parent, like Julie did, but she still supports Michael, feeling that the pack performs a needed job. She considers him just another cop.
