Wolf-Blooded Biologist

Nicholas is married to Lynn and they have a son, Alexander (14). He is brother to Julie and Victor and works for the Parks Department.

Description

A pudgy, clean-shaven man in his mid-30s with thinning black hair with a short ponytail, blue eyes, and pale skin. He has an easy smile, large ears, and an informal manner. When not working, he tends to wear loud Hawaiian shirts, khaki shorts, and sandals. When outdoors, he wears a battered fedora and a three quarters length brown leather coat, a gift from his wife.

Storytelling Hints

Nick is an easy-going man who hides his concerns about his wife behind humor. Having already lost his father to the violent life of the Uratha, he is only too aware of what his wife faces, and they occasionally have fights over it. Generally, he is a loving father (more attentive than his wife) and enjoys his work, trying to have as normal a life as he can despite circumstances. He has a lot of friends, most related to work, and is well liked by most who know him. He is also a swinger, like his wife, though he's heterosexual and less promiscuous. He gets off on his wife's exploits more than anything.

Background

Nicholas was seventeen when his father died in the Castro War. The slightly geeky young man was secretly a little thrilled by the concept of a secret war between werewolves and when his family pressured him into marrying one of the uptown Uratha, he was the least resistant, particularly when he met the sensual Lynn, who had a similar love of books. They married and Nick attended college while his wife learned the ways of the Tribes of the Moon. The two shared similar interests and a love of sex, but weren't in love as much as very fond of each other. Both agreed to an open relationship and, after the first difficult pregnancy, they also agreed to stop at one child. Nick loves his son utterly and spends as much time as he can with him, while Lynn is a bit more aloof, afraid to get too close and not really of a domestic bent. Nicholas doesn't mind much, there is plenty of other family to help with the practical issues, and he is very close to his son, taking him to conventions, going to parks and zoos, as well as concerts and movies.
