Plot
Hector Salazar is stalking Dierdre (or, more specifically, Fiona), leaving her offerings of corpses resembling characters from her books. The presence of the Winter Knight (and, thus, Mab's attention) leads to an uncharacteristic cold snap.

- Setup: Gail calls Eva to ask for legal representation after she was arrested for murder. Police answering a call about a trespasser at Golden Gate Yacht Club, find a heart-less corpse of a woman and Gail, holding a knife with blood on it and occult trappings. Gail claims the blood was from the sacrifice of a bird (whose body was burned, as an offering) and she had no idea the body was there.
Lady Summons

- Setup: Rowan summons Dierdre to the top of Buena Vista hill, where an elf with a striking resemblance to Aldon (from her books) is nailed to a tree with a railroad spike, his heart removed.
Special Delivery
- Location: Dierdre's loft
- Participants: Hector Salazar, Deirdre Donovan
- Setup: Hector, disguised as a delivery man, delivers a package to Dierdre. It contains a delicately carved ivory box containing two hearts speared by a silver stiletto with a note that says, "To Fiona, my love".
Debriefing
- Location: Shrine of Vinyl
- Participants: Julia Pritchard, Daisy Mae McGraw, Meili Lin, Robin Wheeler
- Setup: Julia puts the girls on the case, as a test. She is firmly of the opinion that the necromancer did it and couches it more in terms of "how gets her out of jail so we can try and execute her" than "investigate these murders".
Police Visit
- Location: Dierdre's loft

- Setup: They come by to ask Dierdre about the murder, discovering the connection to her books.
