Description
A fat, balding Caucasian man in his mid-40s with salt-and-pepper hair and mustache, gray eyes, and ruddy skin. He wears well-fitted dark suits with brightly colored shirts and matching silk ties. He has a black trenchcoat and a bowler he wears when the weather is bad. He generally carries a battered leather satchel with him.
Storytelling Hints
Tate is an excellent listener and has the sort of relaxed demeanor that puts people around him at ease. He is an avid foodie and loves trying out new restaurants. His love for his wife isn't terribly passionate, but is firm, and he is utterly dedicated to his children. He still has a wariness for much of his family, but remains loyal.

Background
Tate grew up relatively unaffected by the Uratha side of the family's affairs, raised by his non-wolf-blooded father Tate after his mother died when he was four giving birth to his sister Sybil. He was always an easy-going person who was able to make friends quickly, despite his weight problems, and had a deeply honorable streak. His decision to become a lawyer might not have come true, though, if not for the support of his uncle Hugh, though they had differing opinions on what sort of law Tate should practice. Hugh felt that Tate would come around, but proved wrong. He met Michelle Phelan at a family function and they dated on and off while he was in school, though he remained unaware of the Uratha and, thus, her true nature up until they got engaged and he rejected what she told him, at first and felt manipulated by his family. However, all of that changed when the Castro War occurred. The death of Michelle's sister Kim and her cousin Robin drove a wedge between her and her alpha and she fell back on the only person she thought could help her through it. Tate, unable to refuse her or ignore her pain, took her in and the two reconciled. They married a few weeks later. Now, he better accepts and understands the family's handling of him when he was younger and feels that they have an important part to play. He does what he can to keep them out of trouble. He is good friends with his cousin Jeremy. The two do lunch every day and get together on weekends to do stuff with their kids (who are also close). He also keeps tabs on his nephew Joshua at the behest of his wife.
