Ivory Claw Alpha and Ritemaster

Description

Hishu

A stocky Caucasian man in his early 80s with wild white hair, bushy sideburns and mustache, and steel gray eyes. He wears a charcoal gray wool suit with a light gray shirt and black shoes. His wedding ring is where it has been for the past sixty years.

Urhan

A sleek white wolf with the same steel gray eyes.

Storytelling Hints

Gregory firmly believes that the Ivory Claws are the highest form of life on the planet and all others (lesser Pure, Forsaken, human, and animal) are subject to their will. His life, therefore, it dedicated to living up to that standard. He holds firmly to the Oath of Ur-Farah, but holds the decrees of Silver Wolf even higher. He is very orthodox and punishes any breech of them in his pack. Gregory is a cold, calculating, and fanatical creature with no mercy. As such, he has handed over the duty of dealing with the pack’s human matters to Oliver. He and his beta concentrate on matters of the spirit.

Background

Gregory grew up during the Great Depression, fought in the Second World War, and married on his return home. His family weathered the war well and he expected to live a comfortable life when he experienced his First Change and was initiated into the unpleasant, complicated world of his family’s dark inner circle. Still, raised for loyalty, he learned to accept the harsh truths he was told and gritted his teeth against his initiation. He served well, seeing to his family’s human interests and acting as a competent beta to his father in Uratha matters. His will was seriously tested, though, when his younger daughter experienced her First Change in 1980, at the late age of 30. He had considered himself lucky, even though he had killed his wife Elisabeth during his First Change and was constantly chided by his father for not producing a son. In the end, it was his pride that drove him to do his duty and kill his daughter, according to the requirements of their ancestral spirit. His elder daughter hasn’t spoken to him since. The experience hardened him and he was not challenged when he took over as alpha when his father died soon afterwards, satisfied with his son’s commitment. He brooks no disobedience and holds a great deal of hate for the other branch of the family, though he won’t dishonor their shared blood to speak of it. He has also been incredibly hard on Walter since his wife and daughter fled when she showed signs of changing. He faults the man for not pursuing them and for letting them get away in the first place, and never ceases to remind him that she probably bears the mark of Luna now in order to highlight the shame he has brought on the bloodline. He would have killed him if not for the fact that the family needs all the Uratha it has to survive, the regiment of its totem denying it many of its potential packmates. In the late 50s, he and his pack were challenged by Jiang of the Golden Mountain. In single combat, one by one, they were defeated. While it rankled Gregory, he saw the benefit of not warring with the powerful Chinese pack anymore and accepted the truce that came out of it. Since then, he has concentrated efforts on the Phelans and the Urban Gardeners, mostly using human connections to attack them in an ongoing war of influence. He isn’t really invested in it, seeing it more as a chess game to hone his mind.
