However, the two of them ended up on the street when they were forced from their home when she was five. She was left on her own at the age of nine when her mother died, but managed to get by because of a talent for music but went through hard times until her First Change in 1967. She wasn't aware what had happened to her and nobody was available to explain it to her until a visitor to the city noticed her on the street. He was a hippie but also an Uratha. He taught her who she was, what it meant, and inducted her into his tribe and lodge. She spent two years with him both in the city and traveling to communes in the Bay Area before he went his way and she returned to her home. Revitalized, with new purpose, she began to try and establish a territory in the Fillmore on her own and ran into Okasan. The two collaborated, found they had similar views, and agreed with the approach of each other's Lodges. They worked together in the neighborhood informally until the 1980s when Okasan's husband died and Dave showed up and the three decided to become a pack. She stays on the street, mostly because of her dedication to [[Uprooted]], who has been watching over her since well before her First Change. | |
