Jessica was four when her parents divorced but was always closer to her father than her mother, despite the living arrangements, partially because she is aware of what he is, having seen him injured and in Dalu as a little girl during the Castro War. She was a talented musician growing up and never had any dream besides being in a band. Her mother was supportive but urged her to prepare a backup career, her brother was derisive, but her father came up with money for lessons, bought her instruments, and tried hard to be at important performances. In high school, she learned she was bisexual but only came out to her father, hiding it from her mother and brother. She is currently attending SFSU pursuing her Masters of Arts in Composition while spending all of her free time performing at clubs throughout the city with her all-girl rock band ''Dominatrix''. All the members of the band are fellow students and classically trained.
