Incarna, Conceptual Spirit, Ideological Choir, Idigam

Silicon Empress is merely her title. Her actual name is Kinugal, First Tongue for "Place That Isn't". She was shackled by DeAndre Pruitt on October 4, 2007.

Description

A pixilated woman in vaguely Asian robes and a detached bearing, although she can take any form she desires that fits in with the world she's molded around her.

Storytelling Hints

While she seems comprehensible for an idigam, Kinugal is still a very alien creature, she just happens to have a fairly simple goal in mind at present. Should she be released of her bindings, she would began to remake the Internet into the shifting, unreal realm she used to represent and start pulling humans into it in order to feed from them, changing the landscape to draw the most Essence from them. Her main weakness is that she doesn't have any concept of what is or isn't "real". Her realm is a mutable one of endless possibilities, so she has no grasp that some things aren't possible in the real world.

Background

Legend

Kinugal was a powerful spirit of places which don't exist. She effectively straddled the Border Marches and pulled humans into herself whenever they imagined places that did not exist, changing herself to match their phantom realm and harvesting the Essence she was able to generate until finally devouring their souls. Father Wolf had a difficult time fighting her, since she was almost a state of mind rather than a place or a person. In time, however, his pack found her in their dreams and he bound her, saying, "Place That Isn't, you are bound from the world until such time as I return." Then they left, intending never to return. For untold years, she was locked out of the world, only able to touch it briefly through the dreams and imaginings of humanity, over which she still had sway, but these contacts were too brief and she was only able to glean enough Essence to survive.

Modern History

Then, one day, she sensed an imaginary place that lasted longer than the span of a night's sleep or the time it took to read a good book. She touches this new place and its spirit, woke it, and influenced it as it grew. This spirit was The WELL. With the arrival of the Internet, she found a whole new world to influence, one very close to the Material and Spiritual worlds which she was bound from. Only able to influence, never able to cross over, she insinuated herself among the Information spirits who lived there and set herself as their brood lord. They gather Essence for her, opening windows into the material world and drawing it from those who use computers, phones, or any device which contacts the telecommunication networks.

Release

Kinugal seeks a piece of Father Wolf so that she can break the binding preventing her from entering the world. She is looking to manipulate the pack into getting it for her through bribes of services and, after an upcoming plot, threats and demands for recompense. Once she has it, she will have The WELL open a threshold to her and step through (which he, as a virtual place, can) with it. With the binding broken, she will likely consume him and enter the Internet to begin molding it to her needs. While bound, she could be forced back into her prison by performing a Rite of Binding on the servers running The WELL, but that would be a temporary solution, just forcing her to enter from a different virtual community.

Destruction

The pack will need:

  • The ability to remain lucid in their own dreams.
  • A guide to the dream realms to lead them to Kinugal.
  • A means to bring a real object into the non-places.
