Mad Martin is one of the DJs at the Grind and bass guitarist and songwriter for Premonition.

Description

Mask

A short Caucasian man in his early 30s with gray eyes, no body hair, and innumerable piercings. He wears a leather jacket, leather pants, t-shirt, and heavy steel-toed boots, all black except for various chains, zippers, and studs. He smells faintly of tulips.

Fae Mein

A small hunched creature with wrinkled gray skin, squinting black eyes, long pointed ears and nose, and long, delicate fingers. He wears a black leather bodysuit attached to his his flesh with hooks, rivets, chains, and studs. He smells faintly of tulips.

Storytelling Hints

Martin loves his music and enjoys the nightlife. He is perfectly happy to blend into the human crowd and live his life. He is generous almost to a fault but also has a fierce temper and a spiteful streak a mile long, so those who cross him or take advantage of him find themselves at the brunt of curses and malfunctions.

Abilities

  • Analeptic Charm: He gets 9 again on Medicine rolls, is never penalized for the tools he uses, and can tend people as if they were in intensive care.
  • Burden of Life (Goblin Contract 3): Spend two Glamour and roll Empathy + Wyrd (6 dice) to heal the subject, but all damage they take for the next day effects him instead. There is no cost if they accrued the damage protecting him.
  • Cupid's Eye (Fleeting Spring 1): Spend one Glamour and roll Wits + Wyrd (6 dice) versus subject's Composure to determine their desires. There is no cost if he's kissed the subject within the last 24 hours or they desire him.
  • Gift of Warm Breath (Eternal Spring 1): Spend one Glamour and roll Resolve + Survival + Mantle (Spring) (8 dice) to rejuvenate the target, removing all bashing damage and penalties from fatigue or deprivation. There is no cost if the subject has freely offered him some form of sustenance since the last sunrise.
  • Growth of the Ivy (Fleeting Spring 2): Spend two Glamour (and one Willpower for supernatural creatures) and roll Manipulation + Persuasion + Mantle (Spring) (7 dice) - subject's Resolve to redirect their desires. There is no cost if he is trying to make the subject desire him or is using the contract to resolve a pledge.
  • New Lover's Kiss (Eternal Spring 2): Spend one Glamour and make an extended roll Intelligence + Survival + Mantle (Spring) (6 dice) to make it rain. There is no cost if a mortal has commented within the past hour that it looks like rain.
  • Spring Mantle 1: Gets +1 to Socialize rolls.
  • Warmth of the Blood (Eternal Spring 3): Spend one Glamour and one Willpower and roll Wits + Medicine + Mantle (Spring) (9 dice) to downgrade lethal damage to bashing or heal bashing. There is no cost if the target has expressed a heartfelt love (romantic or familial) for him.
  • Wizened Blessing: Spend one Glamour to gain 9 again on any Dexterity roll for the scene.
  • Wizened Curse: Doesn't get 10 again on Presence rolls and is at -2 for untrained Social skills.

Background

Karl was a medical student at Berkeley who was grabbed one night while working late on a cadaver. He spotted his Keeper stealing a body and was taken for his impetuousness. He was forced to assist in the reanimation of corpses and the creation of twisted chimerical creations before he was able to escape by killing one of the goblins working for his Keeper and wearing his skin. On his return, he found himself unable to kill his fetch and reclaim his life and opted instead to start anew. He claimed the identification of a dead homeless man named Martin Cale and pursued his other love: music. He's become a well-known and liked member of the rave community and still uses his medical skills on the side to help people who need a way out of trouble (abortions, simple surgeries, etc) or a good piercing or tattoo.
