She’s not quite lost to the spirit slowly consuming her and her personality still tends to be the default when she’s not being guided by it. She’s afraid of what’s happening to her and what she is doing, but sees no alternative and is secretly glad she’s not the one being abused anymore. And these days, she’s always so hungry.

Background
Amy Wu was a teenager from L.A. who chafed under what she felt were the unreasonable expectations and restrictions of her parents, so she ran away to party in San Francisco. She spent a couple months living on the couches of acquaintances from the Internet, several of whom pressed her for favors they felt they were owed for their hospitality. When she was finally out on the street, this seemed like the only way out. Pride and fear kept her from accepting a bus ticket home, and the blowjobs weren’t so bad but it wasn’t long before more was demanded of her and she wasn’t in a position to refuse. She has been regularly selling herself for a couple years now and it has worn her down. She hates it and so doesn’t generally hit the corner until she’s practically starving and spends the rest of the time trying to find a way to get out of this life, sure that there is some way to turn it around. She had hope when she met a nice college guy who she met while working who strung her along for a few weeks in order to get free sex in return for buying her lunch and letting her use his shower and his bed. In time, however, he bored of her and her unenthusiastic sex and dumped her. She hit rock bottom, spent her saved money on heroin (which she’d never tried before) and that was where Street Kid found her.
