It exist to encourage fear in those who are vulnerable, generally due to intoxication. It torments the drunk and high with visions of those around them taking advantage of them and then makes them unable to resist when they do.

Background

Born of the practice of shanghaiing, this spirit has evolved somewhat into a generalized spirit of the fear of abduction and vulnerability while intoxicated. It tends to haunt places where people are drinking a lot or taking heavy drugs and encourages crimes against those incapacitated. A patron of date rape and robbery, it is associated with many of the negative drug spirits and those of crime. It has a long history with Barbary Coast and acts as its primary agent in the city. It is also a supporter of Liberal Anxiety and the other fear spirits it associates with.
