Miss Judith Levine

Judith has not yet been granted manumission and is thus still page to her sire.

Description

A pale, thin Jewish woman in her late-20s with short curly black hair, hazel eyes, and a disproportionately large chest which her body language tries to downplay. She wears a white silk blouse, hip hugging black slacks, and sensible shoes. She carries a leather satchel rather than a purse which carries her ritual dagger, notebook, and other ritual items. In inclement weather, she wears a heavy gray wool shawl. She smells faintly of patchouli.

Storytelling Hints

Intelligent, dedicated, and deeply dedicated to her beliefs, Judith has been worn down by years of servitude to her unforgiving sire and is desperate to find a way out of her situation. She has no talent at the political games of the Kindred and has no other friends or supporters, so her options are limited. She's hoping her increasing mastery of Cruac will make her valuable to somebody and help her gain some degree of independence. She has little hope of winning release from her sire of his own volition and fears his patience might run out if he believes she is holding out on him.

Background

Judith came to San Francisco during the Summer of Love (1967), an early convert to Dianic Wicca who dropped out of Berkeley to pursue her magical and religious interests full-time. Her efforts drew the attention of Julian Coleman, who as a habit watches mortal practitioners of magic. Judith's talent with a primitive form of blood magic which he had an interest in prompted him to approach her with an offer to join the world of the supernatural. She refused and tried to protect herself without much success. Julian, however, systematically began destroying her life, culminating in her contracting a rare blood disorder. These hardships, the souring of feminism on sex and general decay of the idealism of the 60s, and her rapidly failing health led her to accept his offer when he approached her again two years later (1975). Thus began a long, troubled relationship as his Victorian mannerisms chafed her enlightened feminism and he grew frustrated at his inability to master the blood magic she was researching. Matters were further exasperated when, in a fit of passion, she Embraced Adrian Dunka (1985) during sex. The Satanist opted to join the Lancea Sanctum rather than pursue the work of his sire and grandsire, as she had hoped. The humiliation drove a hard wedge between them and he's refused to grant her manumission. Meanwhile, her research into the old Lilith myths and the associated blood magic has only deepened her religious beliefs and thus increased her humiliation at being under the thumb of a man. She has been in contact with members of the Cult of Lilith and been accepted as a member of their circle, unbeknownst to any of the local vampires.

Recent Events

Judith has been trying to keep tabs on Adrian, worried that he'll do something that will lead to her destruction (or continued slavery). She's lost track of him since he gathered his cabal and is increasingly frantic as signs of their indiscretions have been growing more evident.
