Chosen of Ti-Tsang (Taoist Alchemy) Taoist, based out of Chinatown in San Francisco. Oldest cabal in the city, dating back to the middle of the 19th century with extensive ties to the community, organized crime, and other ethnic conclaves throughout the Bay Area. Theme: Compassion, simplicity, patience. Oblations: Honoring the ancestors, exercise, meditate, reflect on nature. Di (Earth) – Jin Gao (Moros) Age 90, Male, Cantonese, Fortitude/Pride, Gnosis 7. Death 6, Matter 5, Prime 5, Life 3, Fate 3, Time 3, Space 2. Father died in WWI, veteran of WWII, Awakened during his tour of duty. Returned to Chinatown where he was taken under the mentorship of a Taoist sorcerer. Tired of war, he tended to the needs of the community and his family, but focused on spiritual matters rather than temporal. Became increasingly detached as more of his friends were dead. Spends his days in the garden behind the sanctum, talking to the dead.
Hou (Fire) – Yingchao Jing (Moros) Age 51, Female, Cantonese, Temperance/Wrath, Gnosis 4. Death 5, Matter 4, Prime 3, Mind 2, Fate 1, Time 1. Born poor with immense pride in his cultural heritage, never managed to get out of Chinatown so has dedicated himself to being a pillar of the community. When he Awakened, it only strengthened. He saw that wealth was ephemeral and that his ancestors were all around him. His focus is more temporal than Jin’s, but he doesn’t take the spiritual for granted. Tieh (Metal) – Huiguang Wu (Thyrsus) Age 38, Male, Cantonese, Prudence/Lust, Gnosis 1. Life 2, Death 2, Spirit 1, Fate 1. Conceived during the Summer of Love, parents had to drop out of college to raise him. He ended up working for his uncle, a butcher, and learned the trade. He always wanted to go to college, but finances didn’t allow and his Awakening gave him a new perspective on his profession. He gained a deep respect for the lives he took and their spiritual counterparts. He took his place in the cabal, filling the hole of Life and Spirit magic. Butcher in Chinatown.
Shui (Water) – Christina Krohn (Moros) Age 16, Female, Northern European, Justice/Sloth, Gnosis 1. Death 2, Matter 2, Space 2. Popular and attractive cheerleader who went through a painful Awakening that got her committed to a mental institution for a year. She was taken care of by Dr. Tanenbaum who brought in Melissa Chen to plant mental triggers before releasing her with a bit of Fate magic to have the cabal find her. Yingchao took her under his wing and helped her cope. She’s become a bit goth, but is making the adjustment gradually. So far, she hasn’t noticed the reveries when she reports back to the Sandmen.
