The Chosen are the oldest cabal in the city, having been formed by Chinese immigrants who came to take part in the Gold Rush or work on the Transcontinental Railroad. It has always had extensive ties to Chinatown and other ethnic communities as they have formed in Oakland and San Jose. Its members usually keep to themselves but they do cultivate a healthy rivalry with the Children of Olorun, with whom they've had conflicts in the past.
The two core legacies of the cabal are the Uncrowned Kings, who practice Taoist alchemy to achieve spiritual balance, and the Stone Scribes, who honor the dead and communicate with them by keeping detailed records of their lives and deeds.
