Julian Coleman
From Gothpoodle
The Alder Baron Julian Coleman, Mekhet Priscus, Senator, and Advisor
Storytelling Hints
Julian is a focused, tireless student of the occult and medicine with little time or patience for other pursuits. He is endlessly fascinating if you are interested in the same things as him. Otherwise, he is an incessant bore. His perfectionism is also trying on those attempting to work with him on his studies.

He spends a great deal of his time persuing new volumes and trinkets, particularly since the rise of the Internet has made international shopping from one’s home more convenient.
Background
Born to a well-off London family (1779), Julian’s interest at an early age was medicine and he pursued his chosen profession with single-minded intensity. His drive was noticed by one who frequented St. Bart’s for sustanence and decided to intervene when the young man, in his zeal, contracted terminal tuberculosis (1801). He served his new master for many years, learning all he could from the extensive libraries of the Kindred and becoming fascinated by the nature of his own existence. Shortly after his manumission (1822), he was administered a series of tests by the Ordo Dracul and, once judged worthy, was offered admission. His interests expanded to the occult as the century wore on but with the turn of the century he felt that the local community was losing its focus and decided to relocate in order to get fresh perspective (1915). He chose San Francisco because of its proximity to the new American Rosicrucian Order and the culture and wealth which reminded him of home more than San Jose. He was able to continue in the function he persued in London and was chosen to become an advisor to the Prince during the Conference of 1935. He was granted his current title of tribute after helping to eliminate a cabal of witches in 1972 who had managed to identify a number of Kindred using their magic. He continues his studies without much interest in the more political games of the covenant, always on the look out for promising new students.
Recent Events
The Baron has had poor luck with his choice of childer. His first, Collin, turned out to have more interest in the minutiae of Invictus society than the occult, while his second, Judith, proved to have incredibly poor judgement in her love life, embracing a self-described Satanist without permission in the mid-80s. The childe ended up with the Lancea Sanctum and the sting of this event still hasn’t quite left him. He is cold and slightly cruel towards his younger childe, as a result, as has shown no sign of releasing her from her duties.
