The Chosen are the oldest cabal in the city, having been formed by Chinese immigrants who came to take part in the Gold Rush or work on the Transcontinental Railroad. It has always had extensive ties to Chinatown and similar ethnic communities in Oakland and San Jose, but its members usually keep to themselves. Nonetheless, they have dominated Consilia for the last century and have managed to earn the enmity of the Children of Olorun by seizing their hallow on Washington Street.
