Created by a Jewish eschatological cult in New York city who dubbed him the "new Adam", a first man to repopulate the world after the apocalypse. His female counterpart escaped with the rest of the cult. He has no memory of any of this because Roycroft commanded him to forget. He will obey commands from anyone who bears the proper amulet. Roycroft has one from his dead creator. The members of his cult have others.
