Created by a Jewish eschatological cult in New York city who dubbed him the "new Adam", a first man to repopulate the world after the apocalypse. His female counterpart escaped with the rest of the cult. He has no memory of any of this because Roycroft commanded him to forget. Specially prepared papers in Hebrew put into his mouth can control him.
Steven is actually the reincarnation of the biblical Adam and his mate, Eva Chaya, is the reincarnation of Eve.
