Storytelling Hints

Margery is an incredibly bright, cheerful person with a pleasant and engaging manner. While she is a firm believer in the Pure’s philosophy, she thinks that being pleasant to humans is the best way to get the most out of them. She spends a lot of the time in the hospice, making people comfortable as they die and this has earned her the love of many members of the church who had loved ones die there. She trusts and obeys Bernie without question. She is a little afraid of Aaron and has a particular fondness for poor orphaned Chris.

Background

Margery Flint was the daughter of a diehard hippy by a tempermental painter who had drifted through the same commune for a few weeks. She was raised to love her family, as unconventional as it was, and to be self-reliant, honest, and compassionate. It was these values which were twisted by the church when she was driven to them by the painful death by cancer her mother was going through sans health insurance or savings. Her hippy family abandoned them, unable to deal with it, and she was alone. The church helped her mother die in peace and comfort. She was happy and oblivious of its true workings until the First Change came upon her and she was taken below, restrained and inducted into the Pure. The pain and sense of betrayel was mitigated by the work of the packs persuasive leaders and the rush of sensation that her new form brought. Her misgiving have been lost over the years and now she accepts the precepts of the lodge and tribe implicitly. Having changed in the aftermath of the Castro War, she holds a singular hatred for the Tribes of the Moon for all of the pain they caused her “family”.
