Mainstream Kink is a relatively new spirit, born of the acceptance of lifestyles and practices once considered deviant and the hypocrisy of those now-mainstream practitioners who look down on those who hold still unaccepted views. It feeds off of homosexual couples who look down their nose at drag queens and the over-the-top members of their orientation as well as practitioners of mild BDSM who scoff at those into water sports or who practice it as a lifestyle.
