Background

Juliette Harris and her newborn son were put into witness protection as Kathy and Justin Davis in Portland, Oregon in 1996. Three months ago (Feb 7), Justin was abducted on his way home from school by his father. Alan took Justin to an abandoned building at the Oregon State Hospital and locked the two of them into adjoining cells so that Justin could see him transform without being killed after explaining about the curse and that Justin would inherit it. Unfortunately, he got loose and killed several people in the immediate area before returning, blood-soaked, to take Justin and flee. The boy was nearly catatonic from the trauma and it was slow-going as Alan cared for him. For the March 8th full moon, he locked himself into an abandoned mine, leaving Justin alone in a nearby shelter. Justin ran away and it took Alan three days to find him in the wilderness, by which time Justin was badly weakened from exposure. Alan nursed him back to health again and Justin began to suffer from Stockholm Syndrome. They arrived in San Francisco on April 2nd and have been hiding out in the old Hunter's Point Naval Shipyards where Justin has been getting progressively sicker from exposure to asbestos and radiation. They were preparing for the May 6th full moon when Justin developed a fever and suffering from diarrhea and vomiting. Alan, alarmed that the boy would die, took him to the hospital and then desperately looked for a place to lock himself up. He stumbled on Daisy's church just as the moon rose, triggering his change. Justin is still at the hospital under the name Justin Smith. His condition and Alan's quick departure have led to the physician on duty contacting the social services.
