Hishu

A tall Black man in his late 40s with short black hair, brown eyes, and dark skin. He wears a starched white shortsleeve shirt, light grey slacks, and grey sneakers. He has a winding scar down the lower part of his right arm (Mask of Life fetish) and several burn marks and scars on his torso and upper legs. He wears a bone whistle on a cord around his neck.

Urhan

A black wolf with dark eyes and no markings. Using Anybeast, he appears as a black wolfhound.

Storytelling Hints

A level-headed man who is good at hiding his utter contempt for all humanity and the Tribes of the Moon. He is a master of speaking around things to avoid violating his tribal ban. He can seem very reasonable and shows very good judgement so doesn’t come across as a religious fanatic as many of his associates do. He is conservative and tends to speak in terms of values and ethics, stressing family and honesty. He is very protective of his pack and will not concede his territory or locus. He and his pack will fight to the death to protect them. Bernie initially felt that Margery is weak but she’s proven herself to him and he’s happy now to have her as beta and relies on her to deal with day-to-day people interactions that he can’t get up the enthusiasm for. He feels that Aaron has a dangerous tendency towards immorality and rides the man, causing a lot of friction between them. He is firm with Chris because he wants her to be strong enough to revenge her family. He doesn’t approve of the Hellstrom clans assassination activities, concerned they will only serve to bring the Forsaken together again in a unified attack.

Background

Bernard Denon was born in 1960 to the founder of this branch of the Church of the Lighthouse. As a boy, he tended the sick, most of them homeless or drug addicts, and felt nothing but contempt for them. He learned to hide it, told by his father that he was better, that he was something more, but that it was important to pretend. By the time of his First Change, he was tending the poor tortured soul that fed the pack totem and running the crematorium. His first years as a werewolf were during the lead up to the Castro War and he delighted in the plague, killing the immoral and unworthy humans. He chafed at not being able to participate up until the point when the Castro pack was slaughtered. Then he gathered the stragglers with open arms and kept a low profile, waiting for the Forsaken to return to complacency. He’s proven to have excellent judgement and has been a strong leader of the pack since his father died shortly after the war during a scouting mission into the Castro. He is a firm leader, brooking no dissent and punishing immorality.
