Background

Commercialism is a spirit of greed and enterprise, particularly as a corruption of idealism and sincerity. It crept into the Haight in the very beginning, even before the Death of the Hippie parade and has been extending its influence ever since. It Claimed a host back in the 70s and wasn’t ousted until the early 90s, during which time it used its influence to taint the neighborhood as much as it could. It is now in the market for a new host to continue its work. It has allies in Style and Sell-Out but many of the ideological spirits of the neighborhood despise it.
