    • Mapledell - Lumber, Charcoal, and Maple Sugar (human), wood houses, a small wooded dell on the south side of the glen
    • Hermit Tor - Mixed Farming (human), field stone and wood houses, south side of the river
    • Otter Creek - Lumber, Trout, and Furs (human), wood houses, on the edge of the elf wood
    • Sheer Hollow - small wooded dell on the north side of the glen, wizard's tower and a small village support structure (high elf)
  • The Tarn (south hanging valley, between two great mountains)
    • Adders Bluff - Mining, quarry (dwarf), stone houses, on the far side of the tarn from the entrance to Stonehold
    • Stonehold - sealed dwarven city, abandoned during the Goblin War
  • Elf Wood (north side valley branching off into numerous wooded glens) - centaurs, unicorns, satyrs, treants
    • Rowanbrook - Woodcraft and Furs (wood elf), wood houses

Freshwater

  • Beaver Creek - tributary stream draining cranberry bog
  • Cider Creek - tributary stream running through Applebottom
  • Cranberry Bog - wetlands surrounding Snipe Island
  • Eel Creek - tributary stream running through Eel Gully
  • Honeybrook - tributary stream running through Edgemoor
  • Otter Creek - tributary stream running out of the elf wood and through the village of the same name
  • Rose River - named for the wild roses on its banks, the main stream running through the Glen, its headwaters are on the other side of the Troll Moor
  • Rowanbrook - tributary stream of Otter Creek running through the village of the same name
  • Sugar Creek - tributary stream running through Mapledell
  • Tarnfall Creek - tributary stream running out of the tarn with a waterfall

Calendar

This is the halfling calendar that was in place when humans first came to the valley. It was adopted by the human farmers and stuck. Months are 4 weeks, 28 days long. Seasons start on the equinox/solstice. New moon is the first day of the month, full moon is the 15th, half moons on the 8th and 22nd.

    • Milk Moon (May) - cows back into full milk (17h daylight, 45/57)

    • Hay Moon (July) - gathering hay, harvest flax and hemp (17h daylight, 52/64)
    • Harvest Moon (August) - harvesting grains (15h daylight, 52/64)

    • Apple Moon (September) - apple harvest, breed cows (12h daylight, 46/60)
    • Hunter Moon (October) - hunting birds, pannage, breed sheep (10h daylight, 41/52)

Threats

  • Frost Giants: Viking-style raiders from the fjord, come in winter
  • Hobgoblins and Goblins: The mountains and valleys to the south are goblin infested, they were responsible for the fall of the dwarven kingdom
  • Trolls: The moor to the east
  • Bugbears: Forests to the north
  • Orcs: Random bands raiding by land during the night, hole up in secluded dales
  • Undead: The old dwarven city is riddled with undead
  • Ogres and Hill Giants: Throughout the hills, often work for the goblins
  • Griffins: A pride of griffins lives in a specific set of hills
  • Kobolds: Under the mountains of the north and the elf wood
  • Werewolf: Edge of elf wood
  • Stone Giants: Tribe in the mountains to the north, enemies of the frost giants
  • Black Dragon: Lairs in the boggiest part of the moor
  • Green Dragon: Lairs in the elf wood
  • White Dragon: Hunts in the coldest part of winter along the fjord
