This is the freehold commons and is where any business between the two courts is done. Each day, at dawn and dusk, the monarchs meet here to pass control of the freehold. There is very little ceremony, often no words are spoken. There are rarely witnesses, but sometimes the curious attend and the monarchs are generally attended by their bodyguards. Rarely, the hall is used for full gatherings of the freehold to discuss threats, for the swearing of important oaths, or the trials of Loyalists or Privateers.

Description

A single large room, similar to a church or a courtroom, but with a focus at either end where there is a platform for the monarch and two others. Each is decorated with symbols of their court. A large central aisle leads between them and seating on either side faces the aisle. Courtiers sit in the half nearest their monarch. The Moon Court end has three simple chairs, one sized for a child, one a normal adult chair, and a huge sturdy chair. The wall behind is painted in scenes of sin with creatures of monstrous or disgusting countenance over which stands a night sky and the full moon. The Sun Court end has a large regal throne flanked by two normal chairs. Their wall is painted with scenes of judgment and compassion over which is a bright blue sky and the blazing sun. The chairs on the Moon Court end are painted black and the Sun Court's are painted white.

Doors

The door behind each monarch's seat leads to their hollows. The cross-aisle in the center of the room that divides the court seating leads to two doors. One exits into the Town near the Gate of Pride. The other leads to a janitor's closet in the bus station.

Wards

The entrance from the Town is hidden in deep shadows in a short alley and is watched by a colony of tiny bright red spiders that sting those not of the freehold who attempt to enter.

Residents

None.
