A tiny Caucasian woman in her early 50s with grey hair kept in a bun, pale blue eyes, and deep laugh and frown lines. She wears a loose pale blue blouse which matches her eyes with a high collar, black slacks, and sneakers. An ivory cameo is pinned at her collar and a wedding ring on her left hand. She smokes like a chimney and has been cited several times by the local police for doing so in the shop. ===Urhan=== She has a black coat peppered with grey with white at the muzzle.

Irene is a force of nature, with a strong personality, a compassionate nature, and a love of gossip. She is the sort of person who can make friends waiting in line at the DMV. Most people appreciate her friendliness, particularly the regulars at her shop, who are very protective of her (alerting her when police are coming so she can put out her cigarette). She is very protective of her daughter and her nephew and would die for either of them.

Background
Irene saw many members of her family die while growing up. Her father and his brothers and cousins tried to make war with the MacLellans as the only apparent means to survive and died, one by one. When Irene’s mother took over as alpha of the pack, things changed. She went on the defensive, working out pacts with spirits to warn them of the Pure’s attacks and setting up wards and defenses to make the attacks as expensive as possible. It was difficult, at first, and her husband was killed during this period but eventually the hostilities settled by the early 90s, just in time for the pack to assist cleaning up after the Castro War. By then, Irene was her beta and learned well her mother’s lessons, which she has in turn passed on to Bianca, who grew up at her grandmother’s knee learning of the city. Irene is a natural peacemaker and loves running the coffee shop. She knows the name of every person who goes through and listens to their stories, using it to keep tabs on the city. She is a bit concerned about her daughter’s lack of progeny and has taken to matchmaking among their wolf-blooded kin in hopes of keeping the line alive. She’s currently hard at work trying to get Jack to consider an attractive cousin who she’s fairly sure is kin. She is well regarded by both the Phoenix Court and the Court of the Bay and has many spirit allies who warn her of problems in their territory.
