Rokhan (Hybrid) Transit Worker

Robert was married to Caroline Langley but became a Rokhan around the time she was assassinated by the pack. Now he is a Parent within the Church and a protector of the Underhill Nest.

Description

A burly Black man in his mid 30s with short black hair, glowing yellow eyes, and dark skin. He generally wears the uniform overall of the San Francisco Transit Authority. He always wears dark sunglasses to hide his unnatural eyes. He also still wears his wedding ring.

Storytelling Hints

Robert is driven by a hatred of the Uratha tempered by his instinctual Beshilu cowardice. He is unwaveringly loyal to the nest, but not to any of its specific members except perhaps the Plague King, whom he fears with an awe nearing worship.

Background

Robert came from a hard-working background and grew up with no aversion to laboring for his keep. When he was twenty-five, he got into a car accident and suffered a spinal injury that left him in chronic pain and unable to do any physical labor. Without any other means of support, he ended up on the street. While staying in a shelter, he met Caroline and was inducted into the Church of the Lighthouse, which cured him of his pain (though a ridden spirit) and helped him find new work doing maintenance on the underground tunnels for the transit department. There, he was watched by the Church's Beshilu allies until they were convinced he would suit their purposes and he was bit by one of their stronger members. Falling deathly ill, he was forced to St. Mary because of the closing of the clinic. Still, they found him there the day after his wife went missing from their apartment, and he became a Rokhan. He checked himself out and returned to work and now serves as eyes and ears for the nest, the first line of defense against those who would threaten it (Uratha, primarily). He is aware of the pack's pogrom and is sure they killed his wife as well as the other missing members of the church and hates them intensely.
