The following guidelines were used for character generation:
- Attributes: 6/5/4 (or just a pool of 15)
- Skills: 13/9/5 (or just a pool of 28)
- Merits: 8
- Primal Urge: 2
- Renown: 7
- Gifts: 7 affinity, to match your renown (so if you have Glory 2, Honor 2, Wisdom 4, you'll have 3 1st, 3 2nd, 1 3rd, and 1 4th level gift, all from your affinity lists, including the new auspice ones in Lore of the Forsaken and the new tribal ones in The Rage). You may trade one of your 1st level gifts for a point in Rituals and 3 Rites (6 for Itheaur).
You also get three picks from the following list (yes, you can take the same one multiple times):
- 1 Gift (doesn't need to be from affinity lists)
- +1 Rituals and 3 Rites (6 for Itheaur)
- +1 Primal Urge
- +4 Merits
- +3 Skills
- +2 Attributes
