You must have at least one Identity and Vessel and they need to have at least one trait each. In addition, they should choose two complications, each attached to their Mind or one of their Identities or Vessels.

Mind

What you know, who you are.

  • Specify type: Digital or Organic.
  • Choose traits representing your mental capabilities (experience, knowledge, talent).
  • Sample Complications (Digital): Shadow, Fragment, Low-Sapient, Law-Abiding.
  • Sample Complications (Organic): Any sort of mental illness or disability. Slave Mentality (for bioroids).

Identity

Who you are thought to be, who you know, what you own.

  • Specify the identity's name.
  • Choose traits representing the identity's social resources (contacts, property, status, authority). All identities must have at least one trait (to exist, someone has to know them or they have to exist on some piece of paperwork). A common first trait is citizenship or ownership.
  • Sample Complications (Infomorph): Rogue, Xox, Emergent.
  • Sample Complications (Bioroid): Property.

Vessel

What you inhabit and what it can do. Organics have their body. Digitals get cybershells and bioshells. Organics can also have cybershells and bioshells that they tele-operate.

  • Specify type: Body, Cybershell, or Bioshell.
  • All vessels must have at least one trait, describing what they are (Tennin parahuman, Incubus bioroid, Clockwork Souls Gynoid, etc).
  • Choose traits representing the vessel's physical capabilities (inborn/built-in, implants, biomods, nanosymbiots).
  • Sample Complications (Human): Floater, any sort of physical disability (rare in Fourth and Fifth Wave nations).
  • Sample Complications (Bioroid): Off-the-Rack Looks.
  • Sample Complications (Cybershell): Any sort of bug, quirk, or design limitation.
