Teresa Garcia came to America from Guatemala because of a vision after her pack had been decimated by the fallout of human politics on both sides of the Gauntlet. She followed the visions of the condor until she came to San Francisco in the days leading up to the Castro War. The Caballeros found her wandering Folsom in a daze and, once she was rested, she told them of her visions of fire and moving earth. Together, they tracked down the Great Fire and shackled it, drawing from it many useful hints at the plans of the Fire-Touched which allowed the Tribes of the Moon to ultimately win the Castro War. Afterwards, they agreed she could stay on as their ritemaster, though she remains distant and mysterious, not yet fully integrated into the pack even twenty years later. She is a very private person who follows the tenets of Purity like a sacrament and, indeed, she seems to hold to Catholicism as demonstrated by her regular church attendance. To her pack, she isn’t reclusive, and seems to enjoy being around them, even if she doesn’t talk much. What the pack doesn’t know is that she was captured and brutally raped by Predator Kings during her trip north. Her ghost child does not appear to have followed her from Mexico, but she fears it is only a matter of time. The scars of the event and its outcome are even deeper than the burn scars that mar her features and are why she is incapable of intimacy with her pack, as much as she is soothed by their company.

Hunter in Darkness Alpha and Itheaur Ritemaster (Lodge of the Storm’s Eye, Lodge of the Savior)

Description

Hishu

A short, overweight Hispanic woman in her mid-40s with white hair done up into a bun and covered by a black and blue scarf, blue eyes, and ugly burn scars on the left side of her face and on both hands, the latter of which are generally concealed by white cotton gloves. She wears a blue and purple patterned ankle length skirt, white blouse with a flower pattern around the neckline, and loafers. She wears a silver and obsidian condor charm (Condor Idol fetish) on a silver chain on her left wrist and a simple silver crucifix (Lodge Talisman) around her neck. Generally, she carries a black canvas bag with wooden handles. She is very unassuming and soft spoken to the point of being difficult to hear.

Urhan

A small grey wolf with nasty burns on the left side of its face and muzzle.

Storytelling Hints

Teresa, although soft-spoken and introverted, is confident about her abilities and forceful when it comes to her duties. When she is performing a ritual or negotiating with a spirit, she is a different person: firm and eloquent with no compunction about making threats or offering bribes, as needed. Secretly, she sees spirits as lesser beings whom the Uratha have a mandate from God to shepherd. This doesn’t prevent her from showing respect, as needed, but she still has a hard time seeing spirits of negative aspects as anything but demons, to be destroyed or trapped when they get out of line. She has considerable respect for Pascual but doesn’t really like Machete or his nephews, finding their gang affectations distasteful. She isn’t sure what to make of Gabriela, but accords her the respect due her lineage, and has actually become friends with Lidia in the short time they’ve known each other due to similar backgrounds and the bond of tribe.
