It generally appears as a police officer with a cruel sneer and nightstick in hand.
==Storytelling Hints==
There is little subtlty in The Man, it seeks to be feared and achieves this by perpetrating violence against all who cross its path. It roams the neighborhood, attacking spirits weaker than itself. It supports the Court of the Phoenix with particular interest in corruption and centralized authority.

==Background==
The Man was born of police violence and oppression. It lurked to the side, pushing officers of the law to violence and making interrogations bloody and brutal. It personifies fear of authorities, not of abstract power, but of violent repression. It was born in corrupt days of the Barbary Coast but got its strongest burst of power in the 50s and 60s. It lurks in the Haight because of the preponderance of victims there and has claimed a place in the Lower Haight where it has been further corrupted by the surrounding wound and become a maeltinet. Now it seeks to draw other spirits in to corrupt them, as well.
